You Can Wear WHAT to Work?
We recently stumbled on a post about how to dress for a corporate job. Wild patterns, funky cuts, high hemlines and slits up the leg. This is not how we dress for our corporate gigs. "What to wear to work" features in magazines and on digital sites have long frustrated us. Some of the choices seem too eclectic to be taken seriously. Dressing with personality for work, especially if your office culture is buttoned-up-corporate, doesn't have to stifle your sense of style.
There are lessons in the simplicity and accessories in savvy fashion editors' looks that can carry over into traditional office cultures. Be gone grey J. Crew suit (for the record we love J. Crew suits, but wear them broken up as separates). Dressing for the role of boss means never being boring. Patterns, color, fun jewelry and shoes can elevate your look to showcase your personality when you are at your desk taking care of biz-ness. Our favorite work wardrobe inspiration editor is Giovanna Battaglia, from L'UOMO Vogue. Somebody get us a slick dress and pair of Cat Eye sunglasses pronto!
