"Keep your eyes open. Because whatever you see can inspire you." Grace: A Memoir (2012)
Years ago we excitedly watched The September Issue, a peek behind the velvet curtain at Vogue. Grace Coddington, the spunky and stylish creative director emerged as the real star of the film. Her one-liners, hilarious facial expressions and utter passion to fight for particular images and content have helped shape the public's view of style, culture and fashion for decades. Yesterday she stepped down from her role at the magazine to purse other projects. She will be missed, but we can't wait to watch her post-Vogue era. If you want to learn about her trajectory from schoolgirl to model to Vogue powerhouse, grab a copy of her book Grace: A Memoir. The pictures and stories are delicious. We are reading it for the second time. Added bonus - the orange cover packs a sexy punch on a coffee table, shelf or your nightstand. We have a feeling her 75th year (birthday this April!) will be spectacular.
